This was in my mind for few weeks now, I needed to do something about it :)
“It’s not about his further regression, but about him dealing in some way with certain behaviors and tendencies that some people has described as a regression in the character. If Spike has regressed, it’s not in the fact that he loves Buffy, but how he’s dealing with it, although I felt that the scene at the end of #10 when he was saying goodbye, he said somethings that were progress from where he’s been in the past. I think he said some new, slightly more confident things about where he was at. But he still has a way to go to really be in a good place about it all. Opinions will vary. I do feel Buffy is dealing with her feelings and her experience less well than some other characters are. I want to see her get to a better place. The last part of your question, not having Spike already have moved on from Buffy … I can only speak for me and Joss by saying that we don’t think that’s what’s needed.” ~ Scott Allie on Spike
